It’s only taken me four and a half months to actually write this post…I hope you’ll excuse the absence as I soaked up all the newborn weeks and then some before coming back here to do a formal intro.
If I’m honest I thought I would be writing this post way before now, but it’s happened organically that I have taken a few months away from the blog to learn how to be a mum. I still am on a major learning curve but I am at a stage (for now!) where I have a few hours in the evenings where I can think about getting the laptop out again.
Eric joined us on the 25th August at 4:41am, weighing 8lbs6oz. It seems like so long ago, I can’t imagine him ever not being here.
The weeks since then have been without question the best, most rewarding, yet challenging of my life. I love harder than I ever thought possible, I appreciate my family and friends and everyone who has helped us in any way so much, and I absolutely adore being a mum.
Looking at the few photos I have shared here, he looks so tiny and fragile. That fuzzy forehead, the skin peeling on his joints…it makes my heart melt all over again for my littlest boy.
I am really excited to share content with you relating to my journey as a mum so far. I’ve got my birth story drafted, along with a few other posts, all written in the notes section of my iphone in the depths of the night! Now the night feeds are few and far between I am hoping to turn them into real posts for you.
If there are any posts in particular you’d like to see, or topics you’d like me to cover, please just let me know in the comments. Whether you’re a new mum like me, or a mum-to-be, or an expert, I would love to hear what you’d like to read.
For now I will just leave you with a few photos of our boy in his very early days. Those hazy, crazy newborn times which nobody can prepare you for an which now feel like a far off dream. I am so glad I soaked them up as much as I could.
I promise I will be back soon!
